Two paths, not a menu: early groundwork in Years 3–4, then the Year 5 exam push. Essex CSSE written-answer work and the independent-school formats are taught inside those same sessions, weighted to the schools your child is actually sitting, never billed as a separate class. Both are small-group, streamed by diagnostic and priced in the open. No mystery class sizes, no hidden fees.

What we teach
The four GL strands, taught explicitly, every one.
Redbridge's super-selective grammars, Ilford County High for boys and Woodford County High for girls, test two GL papers, all multiple-choice: English and Verbal Reasoning in one, Maths and Non-Verbal / Spatial in the other. Nothing is left to chance.
English
Comprehension, inference, vocabulary and accurate written technique.
Verbal Reasoning
Word logic, codes and sequences. The type-by-type GL question bank, drilled.
Maths
Curriculum-plus arithmetic, problem-solving and speed under timed conditions.
Non-Verbal / Spatial
Pattern, rotation and spatial reasoning. The most coachable strand, taught systematically.

Both programmes are genuinely small-group and capped at eight. We never quietly grow a class to fill seats. Each fee is published here in full; nothing stays hidden until you enquire.
Years 3–4 · Two-year path
Foundations
The two-year path. Builds reading age, vocabulary, mental-maths fluency and gentle reasoning, without exam papers or pressure. The groundwork that makes Year 5 work.
- Reading age built deliberately through wide reading, inference and comprehension stamina
- Vocabulary, spelling and synonym / antonym work that feeds straight into Verbal Reasoning
- Mental-maths fluency: number bonds, times tables and quick written methods
- A gentle introduction to reasoning puzzles, with no timed papers and no pressure

How the teaching is held
Taught at the right level, never the average.
Two things set the standard for every class: children are grouped by ability, not by age alone, and the group stays small enough that no one hides at the back.
Streamed by diagnostic
Core (B1) and Higher (B2)
Before a child starts Intensive 11+, a written diagnostic places them into Core or Higher. Grouping by ability means the pitch, homework load and pace all match the child in front of us. We re-test every term, and a child who jumps ahead moves up. Streaming is a starting point, not a label.

Genuinely small groups
Never more than eight.
Small groups are a promise, not a marketing line: we would rather open a second class than overfill one. Every child is heard, every piece of work is marked, and the caps are published by programme so you know exactly what you are joining.
