Accessibility

Using this site, whatever you use it with.

We want every parent to be able to read our fees, book a mock and follow their child’s progress without fighting the website. This page says where we are honestly, including what still needs work.

What we aim for

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is the standard UK public bodies must meet, and it is a reasonable bar for anyone asking families to hand over money and information online.

What we have done

  • Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link, so you are not tabbing through the menu each time.
  • The whole site, the parent dashboard and the booking and enrolment forms can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Every form field has a real label, and errors are announced to screen readers rather than only shown in colour.
  • Progress charts are duplicated as a table for screen readers, so the numbers are readable without seeing the lines.
  • Text and background colours are checked for contrast, and nothing important is signalled by colour alone.
  • Animation respects your system’s “reduce motion” setting.
  • The site works down to small phone screens without sideways scrolling.

What we know is not perfect yet

We have not yet had this site audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and we have not tested it with every combination of screen reader and browser. Some of our downloadable PDFs are not fully tagged for screen readers. If you need anything on this site in another format, ask and we will send it to you.

Tell us when something blocks you

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, please tell us. Say what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we will fix it or find you another route in the meantime.

Email hello@bloomacademy.work or call 07927 213771. We aim to reply within two working days.
